Beginning with visit seven, a typical patient responsibility of $71.50 may apply. Aetna does not typically allow for virtual visits, therefore Nurture Lactation does not allow virtual appointments to clients with this insurance.

Oscar Marketplace Plans
Nurture Lactation KC is not contracted with Oscar Marketplace plans. However, many Oscar members receive reimbursement for lactation services after submitting a superbill. Appointments are scheduled as self-pay, and payment is due at the time of booking. After your consultation, we will provide a detailed superbill that you can submit directly to Oscar for possible reimbursement based on your individual benefits.

Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, and Cigna Marketplace Plans
Select Marketplace plans from Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, and Cigna offer in-network coverage for lactation services. Please review the dedicated sections for each insurer on this page for specific coverage details, eligibility requirements, and any potential out-of-pocket costs.

Ambetter, Anthem/Blue Cross Blue Shield, and CareSource Marketplace Plans
These Marketplace plans are generally considered out of network and commonly do not reimburse for services billed via superbill. In some cases, families have obtained reimbursement after submitting an appeal or contacting their state insurance commissioner, though approval is not guaranteed. Patients with these plans should plan to schedule as self-pay.

Plans Not Eligible for Direct Billing
Unfortunately at this time we are unable to bill Tricare, Medicare, Medicaid, or most HMO plans directly. Families with these plans should expect to pay for services at the time of the visit.
