A Strong Start for Your Feeding Journey

Nurture Foundations

Preparing to feed your baby can bring excitement, questions, and uncertainty. Whether you plan to breastfeed, pump, combination feed, or are still exploring your options, having a plan and knowing where to turn for support can make the transition feel more manageable.
Nurture Foundations is our introductory Direct Care package for families who want personalized prenatal preparation and an opportunity to connect with a lactation professional during the early days after birth.
Rather than waiting until a concern arises to figure out how to access support, Foundations gives you a plan before your baby arrives and dedicated time to discuss your feeding experience after birth.

PACKAGE INVESTMENT: $699

Who Is Foundations For?

Foundations may be a good fit for families who:
  • Want to prepare for breastfeeding, pumping, or combination feeding before their baby arrives.
  • Are expecting their first baby and want to understand what to expect during the early feeding days.
  • Want a personalized feeding plan and help identifying the supplies and strategies that may support their goals.
  • Would like an opportunity to discuss early feeding questions with a lactation professional.
  • Prefer a defined package price rather than paying separately for each included service.

What Your Package Includes

1. Prenatal Consultation — 60 minutes

Prepare for your baby's arrival with a personalized consultation before your due date. We'll discuss your feeding goals, anticipated challenges, and questions about getting started.
Your prenatal consultation may include:
  • Discussing your breastfeeding, pumping, combination-feeding, or other feeding goals.
  • Reviewing what to expect during the first hours and days after birth.
  • Education on early feeding cues, positioning, latch, milk production, and establishing a feeding routine, as relevant to your goals.
  • Discussing pump selection, flange fit, and basic pumping preparation when appropriate.
  • Identifying questions to discuss with your delivery team and pediatric provider.
  • Developing an initial plan for accessing support after your baby arrives.

2. Initial Postpartum Consultation — 90 minutes

Your initial consultation is designed to address your family's feeding needs after birth. This visit is targeted within two weeks after birth, with reasonable scheduling flexibility.
Depending on your needs, your appointment may include:
  • A review of your baby's feeding history and your current concerns.
  • Assessment of a feeding session when appropriate.
  • Education about positioning, latch, milk transfer, pumping, bottle-feeding, or combination feeding.
  • Discussion of feeding frequency and your baby's feeding cues.
  • Support with developing a practical feeding plan tailored to your family.
  • Recommendations for next steps and additional support when indicated.
Your lactation consultant will work with you to identify priorities and establish a plan based on your individual circumstances.

3. Comprehensive Flange Fitting — 30 minutes

A properly fitted breast pump flange can help make pumping more comfortable and effective. Your fitting includes personalized guidance to help you identify an appropriate flange fit and understand what to look for when pumping.

4. Personalized Feeding Plan

Your care includes recommendations tailored to your feeding goals, your baby's needs, and the concerns discussed during your consultations. Your plan may be adjusted as additional information becomes available.

5. One Continuous 14-Day Text-Support Period

Following your initial consultation, you receive one continuous 14-day period of text support for eligible feeding-related questions and follow-up guidance.
This gives you a way to ask questions as you implement your plan at home. Text support is not a substitute for an in-person assessment or emergency medical care. Response hours, expected response times, and the scope of messaging are subject to Nurture Lactation's support policy.

6. Included In-Home Travel for an Eligible Initial Consultation

For eligible in-home initial consultations within our designated service area, travel is included when the visit takes place within the package's applicable eligibility period. Confirm your address and eligibility with our team before scheduling.
